Zhovkva, a town in Ukraine's L'vivs'ka Oblast, is situated in the western part of the country, approximately 25 kilometers north of Lviv. The town has a rich history, dating back to the 16th century when it was founded by the Polish magnate Stanisław Żółkiewski. Zhovkva is known for its well-preserved Renaissance architecture, including the Zhovkva Castle, which was built in the 16th century and is now a museum. The town also has a number of churches and monasteries, including the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was built in the 17th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
