Yomou is a town in southeastern Guinea, located at the confluence of the Yomou and Makona Rivers. The town has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 27°C (81°F) and an average annual rainfall of 1,500 mm (59 in). Yomou has a rich history and heritage, having been founded in the 16th century by the Maninka people. The town was once an important trading center and is now home to a number of historical sites, including the ruins of a Portuguese fort.
