Yağlıdere is a town and district of Giresun Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. Located on the eastern Black Sea coast, it is known for its beautiful scenery, including the beaches of Palaklı and Dereli, and the ruins of the ancient city of Camiana. The town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild, wet winters. Yağlıdere's history dates back to ancient times, when it was part of the Kingdom of Pontus. It was later ruled by the Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans. The town's heritage is reflected in its many historical sites, including the ruins of the Camiana fortress, the Ottoman-era Yağlıdere Mosque, and the 19th-century Greek Orthodox Church.
