Wixom, Michigan is a city located in Oakland County, approximately 28 miles northwest of Detroit. It has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Wixom was first settled in 1824 and was originally known as North Farmington. In 1835, it was renamed Wixom after a local settler named Daniel Wixom. The city has a rich heritage in agriculture, manufacturing, and transportation.
