Winton, North Carolina is a small town located in the northeastern part of the state, approximately 36 miles northeast of Raleigh. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The town was founded in 1760 and was originally known as Wintonville. It was renamed Winton in 1832. The town has a rich history and heritage, with many historic buildings and sites.
