White Sulphur Springs is a town in Meagher County, Montana, United States. It is located at the confluence of the Smith River and the White Sulphur Springs Creek, at an elevation of 4,281 feet (1,305 m). The town has a population of 939 people as of the 2020 census. The town was founded in 1864 by miners who were attracted to the area by the presence of gold and silver. The town was named after the hot springs that are located in the area. The hot springs have been used by Native Americans for centuries for their healing properties. The town is also home to the White Sulphur Springs Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
