The village experiences a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. White Pigeon was founded in 1833 by settlers from New York and Pennsylvania. The village was named after the white passenger pigeons that were once abundant in the area. White Pigeon has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historic buildings, including the White Pigeon Depot Museum and the White Pigeon Public Library.
