Western Springs is a village located in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is situated about 15 miles west of Chicago's Loop and has a population of approximately 12,500 residents. The village is known for its beautiful homes, tree-lined streets, and excellent schools. Western Springs has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The village was founded in 1835 by a group of settlers from New England. It was originally called "Spring Grove" but was later renamed "Western Springs" in 1869. The village has a rich history and heritage, and many of its original buildings have been preserved.
