Westerly, Rhode Island is located in the southernmost part of the state, bordering Connecticut. It has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The town was founded in 1661 by English settlers and was originally known as Misquamicut. It is home to several historic sites, including the Wilcox Park and the Babcock-Smith House.
