Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, also known as Varri, is a major city in the Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria, located at the confluence of the Warri, Escravos, and Forcados Rivers. The city has a tropical savanna climate, with a wet season from April to October and a dry season from November to March. Warri has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the 15th century when it was a major trading center for the Portuguese. The city was later ruled by the British from 1884 to 1960, and became part of independent Nigeria in 1960.
