Warren, Michigan, is a city in the Detroit metropolitan area with a population of 134,056. Located 14 miles (23 km) north of Detroit, it is the third largest city in Michigan. The city has a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Warren was founded in 1830 by a group of settlers from New York and named after General Joseph Warren, a hero of the American Revolutionary War. The city has a rich automotive history, having been home to several major automakers, including Chrysler and General Motors.
