Waldo, Arkansas, is a small town located in the southern part of the state, near the Louisiana border. The town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Waldo was founded in 1847 and was named after Waldo P. Johnson, a local landowner. The town's economy is based on agriculture, and the primary crops are soybeans, cotton, and corn. Waldo is also home to a number of historical sites, including the Waldo Methodist Church, which was built in 1872.
