Vorderweidenthal is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Palatinate Forest, at an altitude of 220 meters above sea level, and has a population of around 600 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. The municipality was first mentioned in 1230 and was part of the County of Leiningen until 1801, when it was annexed by France. In 1815, it became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria, and in 1946, it became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The municipality is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Evangelical Church, which was built in 1730, and the Catholic Church, which was built in 1860.
