Volkhovskiy is a town in Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Volkhov and Msta rivers, about 120 km southeast of Veliky Novgorod. The town has a population of around 22,000 people. The climate is temperate continental, with warm summers and cold winters. Volkhovskiy was founded in the 15th century and was originally known as Volkhovets. The town played an important role in the trade between Novgorod and Moscow. In the 18th century, Volkhovskiy became a center of the textile industry. Today, the town is home to a number of factories and businesses.
