Villanueva de Castellón, also known as Castello de la Ribera, is a municipality in the province of Valencia, Spain, located in the Ribera Alta comarca. The town is situated on the left bank of the Júcar River, 32 km south of Valencia. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. The average annual temperature is 16.5 °C (61.7 °F). The town has a rich history, dating back to the Roman period. It was part of the Kingdom of Valencia from the 13th century until the 18th century. The town's heritage includes several historical monuments, such as the Church of San Miguel Arcángel, the Town Hall, and the Palace of the Counts of Villanueva.
