Verkhniy Mamon is a town in Voronezh Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Mamon and Don rivers. The town has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. It was founded in the 17th century as a fortress to protect the southern border of Russia. In the 19th century, it became a major center of trade and commerce. Today, Verkhniy Mamon is a small town with a population of around 10,000 people. It is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Church of the Intercession, the Mamon Fortress, and the Verkhniy Mamon Museum of Local Lore.
