Veigy-Foncenex is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. It is located on the border with Switzerland, on the southern shore of Lake Geneva, at an altitude of 410 meters. The climate is temperate, with an average annual temperature of 11°C. The town has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. It was first mentioned in a document in 1090. In the 13th century, it became part of the County of Geneva. In 1536, it was annexed by the Duchy of Savoy. In 1860, it became part of France. Veigy-Foncenex has a rich heritage, including the Château de Veigy, which was built in the 13th century, and the Church of Saint-Martin, which was built in the 19th century.
