Varnița, also known as Varnica, is a town in the Anenii Noi district of Moldova, situated on the left bank of the Dniester River, opposite the city of Bender. The town has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. Varnița was first mentioned in historical documents in 1563 and was part of the Principality of Moldavia until 1812, when it became part of the Russian Empire. In 1992, Varnița became part of the breakaway Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, which is not recognized by most countries.
