Vanj, formerly known as Kala-i-Vanch, is a town in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan, situated at an altitude of 2,400 meters (7,874 feet) above sea level. It has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, and is home to a rich cultural heritage, including the ruins of the ancient Silk Road city of Rokharv.
