Vallabh Vidyanagar, formerly known as Vallabh, is a city located in the state of Gujarat, India, at the coordinates 22.5333300 latitude and 72.9000000 longitude. It is situated in the central part of Gujarat, about 25 kilometers southwest of the city of Anand. The city has a tropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. Vallabh Vidyanagar was founded in 1946 by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister of India, and is home to several educational institutions, including the Sardar Patel University. The city is also known for its religious significance, as it is home to the Swaminarayan Temple, a major pilgrimage site for followers of the Swaminarayan faith.
