Uphusum is a town in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is located on the North Sea coast, about 10 km west of Husum. The town has a population of about 4,000 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 18°C in July. Uphusum was first mentioned in a document in 1231. The town was a member of the Hanseatic League from the 14th to the 16th century. In the 17th century, Uphusum was occupied by the Danes. The town became part of Prussia in 1864.
