Tysse is a village in the municipality of Kvam in Vestland county, Norway. It is located at the head of the Hardangerfjord, about 70 kilometers (43 miles) southeast of the city of Bergen. The weather in Tysse is typically mild and wet, with average temperatures ranging from 3°C (37°F) in January to 16°C (61°F) in July. The village has a long history, dating back to the Viking Age. It was an important trading center in the Middle Ages, and it was later a center of the Norwegian shipbuilding industry. Tysse is also home to a number of historical sites, including the Tysse Church, which was built in the 12th century.
