With a humid subtropical climate, Trooper experiences hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The town's history dates back to the 1700s, when it was known as "Limekiln" due to its lime kilns. In the 1800s, it became a stop on the Reading Railroad and was renamed Trooper in honor of the Pennsylvania State Police barracks located there.
