Torrejón del Rey is a municipality in the province of Guadalajara, in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It is located in the southeast of the province, on the left bank of the Henares River, at an altitude of 648 meters. The climate is Mediterranean, with cold winters and hot summers. The average annual temperature is 13.5 °C, and the average annual rainfall is 450 mm. The history of Torrejón del Rey dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was a small village belonging to the Order of Calatrava. In the 16th century, it became a town, and in the 19th century, it was granted the title of city. The heritage of Torrejón del Rey includes the Church of Santa María Magdalena, built in the 16th century, and the Town Hall, built in the 18th century.
