Tomiño, also known as Santa Maria, is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. It is located in the southwest of the province, on the border with Portugal, at an altitude of 20 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate, with an average annual temperature of 14°C and an average annual rainfall of 1,200 mm. The history of Tomiño dates back to the Roman period, when it was known as Ad Fines. The town was later part of the Kingdom of Galicia and the Kingdom of Spain. The heritage of Tomiño includes the Church of Santa Maria, the Convent of San Miguel, and the Castle of Tomiño.
