Ţibăneşti is a commune in Iași County, Romania, situated at the crossroads of the European routes E583 and E584, 20 km (12 mi) north-west of the city of Iași. The commune is composed of three villages: Ţibăneşti, Bogonos, and Satu Nou. The commune has a temperate continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is 10.2 °C (50.4 °F), and the average annual precipitation is 630 mm (24.8 in). The commune was first mentioned in a document in 1408, and it was part of the Principality of Moldavia until 1859, when it became part of the United Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia. In 1918, the commune became part of Romania. The commune is home to several historical monuments, including the Ţibăneşti Monastery, which was built in the 15th century.
