Thāne, formerly known as Tanna, is a metropolitan city located in the Konkan division of Maharashtra, India. Situated on the mainland of Mumbai, Thāne is a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and is surrounded by the Thane Creek to the west, the Vasai Creek to the north, and the Yeoor Hills to the east. The city experiences a tropical monsoon climate with hot and humid summers and mild winters.
