Tekkalakote, also known as Takkalakote, is a town located in the Koppal district of Karnataka, India. It lies at 15.5333300° N, 76.8833300° E and experiences a tropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. The town has a rich history, dating back to the 11th century when it was ruled by the Chalukyas. It was later conquered by the Hoysalas, the Vijayanagara Empire, and the Marathas before becoming a part of the British Raj. Today, Tekkalakote is known for its ancient temples, including the Kalleshwara Temple, the Mallikarjuna Temple, and the Someswara Temple, which are popular pilgrimage sites.
