Tecpan de Galeana, also known as Tecpan, is a city and municipality in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. It is located on the Pacific coast, approximately 120 kilometers northwest of Acapulco. The city has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 28°C. Tecpan was founded in 1531 by Spanish conquistadors and was an important port during the colonial period. It is known for its beautiful beaches, its colonial architecture, and its rich cultural heritage, which includes the annual "Festival de la Tortuga" (Turtle Festival).
