Tarariras, Colonia, Uruguay, also known as Joaquín Suárez, is a city located in southwestern Uruguay, near the Río de la Plata. The city has a humid subtropical climate with warm, humid summers and cool, dry winters. Tarariras was founded in 1874 and named after the Uruguayan military leader Joaquín Suárez. The city is home to a number of historical sites, including the Joaquín Suárez Museum and the Church of San Juan Bautista.
