Tālīkota is a town in the Vijayapura district of Karnataka, India, located at 16.4833300 latitude and 76.3166700 longitude. It experiences a tropical savanna climate with hot summers and mild winters. The town has a rich history, dating back to the 12th century when it was part of the Kalyani Chalukya kingdom. It later came under the rule of the Vijayanagara Empire and the Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur. Tālīkota is famous for the Battle of Talikota in 1565, which marked the end of the Vijayanagara Empire.
