Szigethalom is a town in Pest County, Hungary, located on the Csepel Island in the southern part of Budapest. It has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. The town was first mentioned in 1263 as "Szigeth" and was later renamed "Horthyliget" in 1942 after the Hungarian regent Miklós Horthy. After World War II, the town was renamed "Szigethalom" again. The town is home to several historical sites, including the ruins of the Szigethalom Castle, which was built in the 13th century.
