Swansea, Massachusetts is a town located in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. It is situated on the eastern shore of Mount Hope Bay, an arm of Narragansett Bay, and is bordered by the towns of Somerset to the north, Dighton to the east, and Rehoboth to the south. The town has a humid continental climate, with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Swansea was originally settled by the Wampanoag people, and was later colonized by English settlers in the 17th century. The town played an important role in the American Revolution, and was home to several battles during the war. Today, Swansea is a thriving community with a population of over 17,000 people.
