Suwanee is a city in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. It is located 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Atlanta and has a population of 18,250 (2010). The city was founded in 1837 and was named after the Suwanee River. Suwanee has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The city is home to a number of historical sites, including the Suwanee Town Historic District and the Suwanee Creek Covered Bridge.
