Sosa is a municipality in the district of Erzgebirgskreis, in Saxony, Germany. It is located in the Ore Mountains, at an altitude of 500 meters. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from -2°C in January to 18°C in July. Sosa has a long history, dating back to the 12th century. It was first mentioned in 1186 as "Sosowe". The town was granted market rights in 1558. Sosa is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Church of St. Nicholas, which was built in the 15th century. The town is also known for its traditional crafts, such as woodcarving and lace-making.
