Soest, also known as Zoest, is a municipality and town in the central Netherlands, located in the province of Utrecht. The town is situated in the wooded area of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, approximately 15 kilometers east of the city of Utrecht. Soest has a temperate oceanic climate, with mild winters and warm summers. The town has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages, and is known for its many historical buildings, including the 13th-century Soestdijk Palace and the 15th-century St. Peter's Church. Soest is also home to the Soestdijk Nature Reserve, a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.
