Snezhinsk, formerly known as Chelyabinsk-70, is a closed city in the Chelyabinsk Oblast of Russia, located 140 km west of Chelyabinsk. The city was founded in 1957 as a secret nuclear weapons research and development center and was closed to outsiders until 1992.
