Skhimatárion, Greece, also known as Schematarion, is a town in the Central Greece region, located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Athens. The town has a temperate climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Skhimatárion has a rich history dating back to ancient times, with evidence of human habitation from the Neolithic period. It was an important center of the Delian League during the Peloponnesian War and later became part of the Roman Empire. In the Middle Ages, it was a stronghold of the Byzantine Empire and was later conquered by the Ottoman Turks.
