The town has a population of 12,380 and is located at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level. The climate in Shūfah is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The town has a rich history, dating back to the Canaanite period, and is home to a number of archaeological sites, including the ruins of a Byzantine church and a Roman bathhouse. Shūfah is also known for its traditional Palestinian embroidery, which is still practiced by many of the town's women.
