Sherburn is a city in Martin County, Minnesota, United States, with a population of 1,137 as of 2020. It is located in southern Minnesota, approximately 20 miles north of the Iowa border and 30 miles west of the Wisconsin border. The city experiences a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Sherburn was founded in 1857 by a group of settlers from New York and was originally known as "New York Mills." The city's name was changed to "Sherburn" in 1878 in honor of Moses Sherburn, a prominent local businessman. Sherburn has a rich agricultural heritage, and the city is home to several grain elevators and other agricultural businesses. The city is also home to a number of parks and recreational facilities, including a golf course, a swimming pool, and a baseball field.
