Serzhen’-Yurt, also known as Podlesnoe, is a village in the Grozny District of Chechnya, Russia. It is located in the northern part of the district, 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) north of the city of Grozny. The village has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The village was founded in the 18th century and was originally inhabited by Chechens. It was annexed by the Russian Empire in the 19th century and was part of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic from 1936 to 1991. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Serzhen’-Yurt has been part of the Chechen Republic.
