Šaľa, formerly known as Sellye, is a town in southwestern Slovakia, located on the Váh River in the Nitra Region. The town has a temperate continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Šaľa has a rich history dating back to the 11th century, and its heritage is reflected in its many historical monuments, including the Roman Catholic Church of St. Martin and the Renaissance manor house.
