Seaford, New York, is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County. It is located on the South Shore of Long Island, approximately 30 miles east of Manhattan. The area has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Seaford has a rich history dating back to the 17th century, when it was settled by English colonists. The area was originally known as "Jerusalem South" and was later renamed "Seaford" in 1892. The hamlet is home to a number of historic landmarks, including the Seaford-Oyster Bay Historical Museum and the Seaford Public Library.
