Schweighouse-sur-Moder, also known as Schweighausen or Schweighouse, is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Alsace, France. It is located at an elevation of 170 meters (560 feet) above sea level, on the Moder River. The climate is temperate, with an average temperature of 10.5 °C (50.9 °F) and an average annual precipitation of 750 mm (29.5 in). The commune has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in 1120, and it was part of the Holy Roman Empire until 1681, when it became part of France. The commune is home to a number of historical monuments, including the Saint-Martin Church, which dates back to the 12th century.
