Sargenroth is a municipality in the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Hunsrück mountains, at an elevation of 420 meters (1,380 feet). The municipality has a population of around 1,700 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C (32°F) in January to 20°C (68°F) in July. Sargenroth was first mentioned in a document in 1314. It was part of the County of Sponheim until 1797, when it was annexed by France. In 1815, it became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. After World War II, it became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Sargenroth is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Evangelical Church, which was built in the 15th century.
