Sarentino, also known as Sarntal or Sarnthein, is a municipality in the province of South Tyrol, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, located in the Sarntal Valley, a side valley of the Eisack Valley, at an elevation of 960 meters above sea level. The area has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. The municipality has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the Stone Age, with evidence of settlements from the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age. The area was also inhabited by the Romans and the Lombards, and was later part of the County of Tyrol.
