Sanniquellie, also known as Sanaquelli, is a city in Nimba County, Liberia, located at the coordinates 7.3622200 latitude and -8.7061100 longitude. The city has a tropical rainforest climate with an average temperature of 26.7°C (80.1°F) and an average annual rainfall of 2,032 mm (80 in). Sanniquellie was founded in 1904 by the British and was named after a local chief. The city played an important role in the Liberian civil wars of the 1990s and 2000s. Sanniquellie is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Sanniquellie Museum and the Sanniquellie Cultural Center.
