Sanlúcar la Mayor is a municipality located in the province of Seville, Andalusia, Spain, situated at an altitude of 148 meters and 18 kilometers from the provincial capital. It has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C to 35°C. Its history dates back to Roman times, and it was later conquered by the Arabs, who called it "Al-Sharaf". After the Reconquista, it became a possession of the Duchy of Medina Sidonia, and in the 19th century, it became an independent municipality.
