Sankt Englmar, also known as Englmar, is a municipality in the district of Straubing-Bogen in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the Bavarian Forest at an altitude of 865 meters (2,838 feet) above sea level. The municipality has a population of around 1,900 people and covers an area of 30.5 square kilometers (11.8 square miles). The climate is temperate with average temperatures ranging from -2°C (28°F) in January to 18°C (64°F) in July. The municipality was first mentioned in the 12th century and was granted market rights in 1429. The main industries in Sankt Englmar are tourism, forestry, and agriculture.
