San Tan Valley, Arizona, is a rapidly growing community located in Pinal County, approximately 30 miles southeast of Phoenix. With a population of over 90,000, it is the largest unincorporated community in Arizona. The town is named after the nearby San Tan Mountains and the Gila River Indian Community. San Tan Valley has a hot desert climate with average temperatures ranging from 45°F in January to 105°F in July. The town was originally settled by the Hohokam people around 500 AD. In the 1800s, the area was used for ranching and farming. The town began to grow rapidly in the 1990s with the construction of several new housing developments.
